1. License Grant

AltSea is proprietary software licensed under a standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

Core Features

The following core features are currently available without requiring an account:

  • “Remind Me Later”: Schedule links to open at a later time
  • Link Cleanup: Remove tracking parameters, auto-promote to HTTPS, etc
  • Link History: Keep a history of your cleaned links
  • Save Links: Save links for future reference

Core link-handling features work locally on-device and do not require an account. However, some app functions, such as update checks and other optional network-enabled features, may still contact network services.

Local-First Design

AltSea’s core link-processing features are designed to work locally on your device. Optional features, including account, backup/sync, premium, feedback, and other cloud-backed features, may require network access, a login, a subscription, or separate in-app terms or disclosures.

Additional Features

Some optional features and cloud services may require a subscription, an account, or acceptance of additional terms presented within the app. These features will be identified in the app where applicable.

2. Service Description

AltSea is a URL processing tool for Android devices. The app can:

  • Remove tracking parameters from URLs
  • Convert AMP links to original URLs
  • Unwrap redirect links (Google, Facebook, etc.)
  • Perform URL decoding and normalization
  • Offer optional HTTPS upgrades with safety verification

Important Disclaimer: AltSea does not guarantee perfect cleaning of all tracking parameters or complete protection against malicious links. Users are responsible for verifying the safety of links before opening them.

3. Acceptable Use

By using AltSea, you agree to:

  • Use the app in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Not use the app for illegal or malicious purposes
  • Not attempt to circumvent any security features or restrictions
  • Not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

AltSea is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • No guarantee of uninterrupted service: The app may experience downtime, bugs, or errors
  • No guarantee of accuracy: Link transformations may occasionally fail or produce unexpected results
  • No responsibility for broken links: We are not liable if processed links become non-functional
  • User assumes risk: You assume all risk associated with following processed links

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AltSea and its developers shall not be liable for:

  • Damages arising from app use or inability to use the app
  • Data loss, corruption, or device issues
  • Malicious links that pass through the cleaning process
  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

6. Third-Party Services

AltSea integrates with third-party and cloud services for specific app functions.

Supabase / AltSea Backend Services

  • Purpose: Account, backend, and other cloud-supported app functionality
  • May be active: Depending on which app features you use
  • Data processed may include: App version and platform information, account identifiers, account email and profile information, preferences backup data, feedback content and attachments you submit, and other limited account- or feature-related data needed to operate those services

RevenueCat

  • Purpose: Premium purchase, paywall, and entitlement-related functionality
  • May be active: When premium features or purchase flows are used
  • Data processed may include: Account-linked identifiers and purchase/entitlement status data needed to provide premium features

Sentry (Crash Reporting) — Opt-In

  • Purpose: Optional crash and error reporting
  • Opt-in: Only activated if you explicitly enable it in settings
  • Data collected: Privacy-limited crash logs and error traces. No IP address, location, advertising IDs, or app-set IDs are collected
  • Privacy: See Sentry’s Privacy Policy

Amplitude (Analytics) — Opt-In

  • Purpose: Optional usage analytics configured for minimal app insights
  • Opt-in: Only activated if you explicitly enable it in settings
  • Data collected: Privacy-limited, pseudonymous usage patterns and feature interactions. No IP address, location, advertising IDs, or app-set IDs are collected
  • Privacy: See Amplitude’s Privacy Policy

You can enable or disable opt-in services at any time in the app’s settings. Other services may be used only when required by the specific feature you choose to use, such as account login, backup/sync, etc.

7. Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify app features and functionality at any time
  • Update these Terms of Service with reasonable notice
  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue optional online services or specific cloud-backed features
  • Discontinue the app or specific features (though we have no current plans to do so)

Continued use of AltSea after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using AltSea at any time by uninstalling the app from your device.

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to AltSea services for users who violate these Terms.

Data removal: Uninstalling AltSea removes app data stored locally on your device, subject to your device or operating system behavior. It does not automatically remove data held by third-party or backend services. If you created an account or used cloud-backed features, some server-side data may persist until deleted through the available in-app account deletion flow or via the web deletion flow at Account Deletion Form.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of AltSea shall be resolved in accordance with those laws.
